Great article on Jim Welter. He is a true practitioner and observer of nature, especially fish. If a person desires a truly great experience on fishing off the Port of Brookings, a fishing trip with Jim is the ultimate. He not only knows all of the best fishing tecniques but he is a true sportsman. His processing and use of any fish taken is indicative of his values, he will not waste any portion of any fish taken and takes no more than he needs. In the instances that he has more fish than he needs, he will provide generosly to his neighbors and friends. Jim is an act to follow and learn from.

Dan,

`Nice tribute to Jim Welter. One error, he lives in Brookings, not Gold Beach. One factoid; Jim's wife Bernice has Alzheimers. He would love to hear from you. jswltr@verison.net is the last address I have for him.
